About
My newest single, Strangest Dreams, is a wacky conjuring of a dream which leads the listener to examine how they spend their time and the importance of slowing down. I wrote this entire piece and my creative process began with a random word generator. I conjured four words: magenta, clown, balloon, and maniacal. These words informed the first verse of "Strangest Dreams" and I wrote the rest of the piece based on these ideas. This piece was written entirely at the piano where I created harmonic structure, lyrics, and melodies. I wrote free form and experimentally, trying not to judge my ideas and instead listen to them and then revise. This is my favorite way to compose.

The next stage of composition for "Strangest Dreams" was in my digital audio workspace. Once I had the basic elements of the song recorded I then came up with different elements such as a guitar part and bass line. My friend, Ian Mackintosh, who plays both guitar and bass, was able to help me create these parts. I also added drums and effects in order to enhance the dreamy and wacky artistry of "Strangest Dreams." I love being able to express myself through recording and production, and "Strangest Dreams" is an example of my artistic and technical skills in music technology and sound engineering.
