Fashionless Delight

About
"Fashionless Delight" is a song I wrote based on an Emily Dickinson poem called "It's Like the Light". It is unreleased and utilizes many spectral effects as well as pitch bending. The accompaniment has been pitch shifted up by 3 semitones using a pitch shift plug-in. The vocals are rather flowey and loose and follow the pitch shifting accompaniment as best they can. It creates an eerie, off-kilter effect in the song. There is an additional drum part that is throughout the entire piece as follows:

The rest of the piece's structure is demonstrated below.
Intro (metallic, electric piano sound 1):

“It’s like the Light— A fashionless Delight—” (top line is electric piano 1, middle two lines are grand piano):

“It’s like the Bee— A dateless— Melody—” (top line is electric piano 1, middle two lines are grand piano, bottom line is vibraphone):

“It’s like the Woods— Private— Like the Breeze—” (Accompaniment continues with the same instruments):

“Phraseless— yet it stirs– The proudest Trees—”:

Instrumental Interlude:

I really enjoy the eeriness of this piece. I wrote this piece nearly entirely in my digital audio workspace and I experimented with different vocal lines until I liked the finished result.
